Jack Pepper

RPS/Classic FM 25th Birthday Commissions Winner

Jack has been successful in the 2012 and 2014 EPTA UK,  2012 Surrey Schools Have Talent and 2016 Royal Opera House Fanfare Competitions. He has performed piano and vocal solos in internationally renowned venues such as Wembley Arena, G Live, Dorking Halls, Fairfield Halls, Warwick University's Arts Centre and the JFC Jazz Club in St Petersburg. Jack's annual charity concerts, featuring broad programmes of classical, popular and jazz music, have now been running for eight years.

Jack enjoys composing in a range of styles, from classical compositions to jazz and original popular songs, which can be heard on his YouTube channel. His own fanfare is currently being used to call audience members to their seats throughout the Royal Opera House's 2016-17 season, including for their productions of 'Norma' and 'La Traviata', having recorded his work with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House under Sir Antonio Pappano.  He was interviewed by the BBC for his work with the ROH, and this is available on the BBC website. He has recently had a jazz composition premiered in Canada by the superb ensemble SymphRONica, and will be working with the group on future commissions. This includes a commission for Canada’s 150th Anniversary, and Jack’s piece will be performed live at Trafalgar Square on July 1st as part of the celebrations. They will also perform his work at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2017.

Besides performance and composition, Jack has also written an article on music education for Gramophone magazine's website, one of the most popular classical music sources in the world. His music has been discussed in the Epsom Guardian newspaper, in a studio interview on Radio Jackie, and in a broadcast of his original song ‘In 90 Years’ on BBC Surrey, in which Jack was interviewed live in the studio. His YouTube channel had been viewed in eleven different countries within a week of its launch, with views ranging from Malaysia to the UAE.
