Join us to celebrate violinist Johann Peter Salomon (1745-1815), who brought Haydn to London and was the first leader of the Philharmonic Society Orchestra, as well as other fascinating musical characters from the Society's founding years, such as superstar double bassist Domenico Dragonetti who demanded high fees and even brought his dog Carlo to performances. The event takes place in the elegant historic surroundings of the In and Out Club. It will be introduced by BBC Radio 3's Christopher Cook and with music performed by RPS Council Member, Chi-chi Nwanoku with fellow members of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, you'll enjoy supper in style - and meet the personalities behind the RPS - both historic and present day! This event follows the RPS Annual General Meeting - more detailsPlease note that the In and Out Club has a compulsory dress code: Gentlemen should wear suits/jackets and ties; ladies smart, arms covered.
