“It was an enormous honour for me and I enjoyed every second. As a former RPS young artist, it was lovely to reaffirm the link with the RPS, and I’m thrilled it was so well received as a concert. It was wonderful to work with such talented and enthusiastic young people, though they made me feel my age!!! … I feel very lucky to have been involved in such a huge occasion.”

Jennifer Johnston, mezzo soprano, on performing Beethoven’s 9th Symphony at the BBC Proms (RPS’s 200th birthday Prom) on Sunday 11 August 2013.
