RPS Instrument Purchase Grant 2019 | £500 towards a Double Bass and Bow

Born and raised in the outskirt of Paris, I started to teach myself electric bass at the age of 16. Two years ago, I left my town where the music scene was non-existent and had barely any musicians to play with. I came to London to start my music degree. I joined a college called BiMM in Fulham and quickly realised that I needed more music tuition. I then joined Tomorrow's Warriors, a jazz ensemble, where I met a lot of great musicians and Gary Crosby, who introduced me to the double bass and encouraged me to try and audition for Trinity Laban conservatoire. I was given a place for entry in September 2018 and have been playing double bass properly ever since. Let me tell you: I don't regret it one bit. I love this instrument and I'm planning to stick to it. As I don't have my own at the moment, purchasing one, with the help of the RPS Instrument Grant, will mean that I can practise more. Thank you.
