Alexia Pasquariello

RPS Instrument Purchase Grant 2021 | £750 towards a piccolo

Flautist Alexia Pasquariello is a second year undergraduate studying with renowned flautist Karen Jones and acclaimed piccolo player Helen Keen at the Royal Academy of Music. During her professional development, Alexia has had several musical accomplishments. She grew up in in Bucharest, Romania, where she won the first prize at the National Music Olympiad between 2015-2019. Moreover, she is a first prize winner of different national and international competitions which she participated in between 2012-2020, including “Emanuel Elenescu International Music Competition” and “The Golden Pound National Music Competition”.

Besides her solo activity she was also a member of both the National “Dinu Lipatti” Youth Orchestra and the National Woodwind and Brass Orchestra between 2016 and 2020. During this time, she also performed as a soloist with the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra and the Pitesti Symphony Orchestra.

With friends, she has recently produced a chamber music video in order to encourage musicians to follow their passion during lockdown. The musical video was awarded with the Highly Commended Prize by the Royal Academy of Music in the Digital Woodwind Competition.
