Mariia Zhuravlova is a second-year Ukrainian violinist studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Francis Cummings. Mariia grew up in Kharkiv, Ukraine and graduated from Lyatoshynsky's Kharkiv Music College with honours in 2021. In her final year she was leading both the Symphony and Chamber orchestras and gaining prizes in local competitions. While studying at the RCS, she has already formed a piano trio with her fellow students, and has participated in various student productions, including operas, musicals and orchestral concerts. She is also developing her musical skills in different contexts - as a country and jazz violinist, performing and recording with bands and taking part in cross-disciplinary experimental collaborations with dancers, electronic musicians and actors.
