2015 RPS Instrument Purchase Grant recipient
Hannah, originally from Surrey, was a music scholar at dunottar school for girls in Reigate. She achieved her diploma with distinction by the age of 16, and enjoyed playing with a variety of ensembles and orchestras, including the Surrey county youth wind orchestra, and later, became Leader of the National youth wind orchestra of Great Britain.
Hannah is now in her second year, studying with a scholarship at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music in London, with her teacher Michael Whight. In her first year at Trinity, she won first place in both the Wilfred Hambleton clarinet competition, and the Harold Clark Woodwind Competition. As well as her passion for classical music, she also has a keen interest in Jazz and hopes to expand her knowledge and playing in both areas during her time at music college.
The 2015 Instrument Purchase Grants were funded by the RPS Young Musicians Programme with kind support from: the Sir John Barbirolli Memorial Foundation; the ABRSM, the exam board of the Royal Schools of Music, the Angus Allnatt Charitable Foundation; the Mercers’ Company; the Andor Charitable Trust; the Kirby Laing Foundation; and individual donors.
