2016: Sheku Kanneh-Mason

RPS Duet-Prize Young Instrumentalist Prize winner

Awarded: £1,500 and a UK performance opportunity

When he was awarded the prize, 16-year-old Sheku Kanneh-Mason attended Trinity Catholic School in Nottingham and was yet to appear in BBC Young Musician which he proceeded to win. At the time he also studied at Junior Academy with Ben Davies and played in Chineke! - both its junior and professional orchestras. His subsequent accomplishments are well known, not least performing at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018. You can visit his official website here.
