RPS Allianz Instrumentalist Prize

This £2,500 prize is awarded to support performance opportunities and career development of an outstanding solo instrumentalist playing an “endangered” classical instrument: bassoon, oboe, French horn, viola, trombone, tuba and double bass. In light of the initiative launched by Youth Music, this award will continue the project’s work in aiming to raise the profile of these instruments.

The first award will be given to a bassoonist.

Auditions will take place in London on Sunday 14 October 2018.

Who is it open to?

The 2018 Prize is open to bassoonists based in the UK for 2018/19 season, with a maximum age of 28 at the application deadline.

How can I apply?

N.B. The deadline to apply has been extended from Monday 30 July to Wednesday 15 August, 5pm.

To apply, please read the application guidelines. You will need to submit:

  • an application form (link below)
  • entry fee of £20
  • 2 references (from referees given in application form)
  • some video material of your playing (details in application form and guidelines)

All of the above must be received by the deadline: Wednesday 15 August, 5pm.
