Charlotte Corderoy

About Charlotte

I am currently Assistant Conductor to the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

In the 2024-25 season I am making my debut with English National Opera (conducting Britten's Turn of the Screw), Volksoper Wien (Loewe's My Fair Lady) and South Australian Opera (Jonathan Dove's Flight). I am also assisting Barbara Hannigan at the London Symphony Orchestra, covering Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro at Glyndebourne Festival Opera, and continuing my role with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

Highlights from the 2023-24 season included returns to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (having previously conducted them at the Three Choirs Festival) and to Opera Holland Park for Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia. I also debuted with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra co-conducting Stravinsky’s The Rake's Progress with Hannigan in Örebro, Stockholm and Cologne.

Born in 1997, I graduated from Oxford University with First Class Honours in Music. I went on to study conducting at the Royal Academy of Music where I am also Musical Director of their Junior Musical Theatre Department and conductor of their Symphonic String Orchestra. I have assisted on a number of new commissions at the Aldeburgh Festival and on a Stravinsky album for Linn records featuring Barbara Hannigan. I conduct alongside Barbara on the recording which is due to be released in October 2024.
