Lada Valesova

About Lada

I’ve got bitten by the conducting bug after years of being a pianist, chamber music player, vocal coach, music director and educator: activities and passions on which I’ve built a sound and vibrant career. When the moment of ignition arrived, I set out to bring together all my skills and experience to date and to channel them into conducting. I’ve been very fortunate to receive support in my endeavour from my colleagues, mentors, organisations such as Royal Philharmonic Society, Royal Opera House and opera companies with whom I’ve created bonds over the years. Amidst them a special place belongs to Opera Holland Park who gave me my first assistantship with Sian Edwards in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta, and where I’ve made my conducting debut last summer in Le Nozze di Figaro with OHP Young Artists and the City of London Sinfonia. The same summer I’ve conducted Eugene Onegin for Opera West Green House in another debut. Since then, I have assisted Oksana Lyniv on the production of Tosca at the Royal Opera House and more opera conducting engagements are in the books for the forthcoming season. Conducting for me represents communication, passion, creative teamwork, channelling and sharing.
