Alasdair Morton-Teng

2016 RPS Instrument Purchase Grant recipient

CELLO

Alasdair began cello lessons at the age of 8, studying with Harriet Davidson and Dr. Alasdair Mitchell at the City of Edinburgh Music School. Highlights of studying there included masterclasses with Steven Isserlis CBE and Chris Hoyle performing movements from Saint Saens cello Concerto and performing and recording in London with Drake Music for the 2012 Olympics.

As an avid ensemble musician, Alasdair has enjoyed orchestral courses with the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland and with Edinburgh Youth Orchestra for their 48-51st Seasons.

Alasdair has just finished his first year at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland studying with Alison Wells and Bing Bing Lee. He is delighted to be supported with a generous grant from the RPS towards the purchase of a cello.
