Inspired by our major commission this year, PULSE, the RPS has joined forces with arts charity IdeasTap in a new initiative which offers five young filmmakers and five composers the chance to create their own short film/music collaborations.

30 year old mezzo-soprano, Clare Presland, has won the £10,000 Chilcott Award. The award is given to a ‘major young artist with the potential to make an international impact’

Composer Nicola LeFanu has become the fifth recipient of the RPS Elgar Bursary, created to support the work of mature composers. She will write a new work for the BBC Symphony Orchestra, her first large-scale orchestral commission since 1987.
