The Britten Sinfonia is one of Europe’s most dynamic chamber orchestras and has made a number of appearances at the Bury Festival. Tonight’s concert features a small ensemble from the orchestra, led by oboist Nick Daniel, playing a programme that includes Mozart’s Oboe Quartet and a beautiful Colin Matthews arrangement of Schumann’s song 'Mondnacht' for cor anglais and strings. The focus of this concert is Memoria by Cheryl Frances-Hoad, chosen by the Royal Philharmonic Society and BBC Radio 3 to be part of its Encore
series of concerts.
A pre-concert talk, featuring composer Cheryl Frances-Hoad in conversation with the RPS's Tom Hutchinson, will take place in the auditorium at 18.00. Find out more here
