Britten Sinfonia perform a new work by Judith Weir, commissioned as part of the 2013 RPS/BPF celebrations marking the bicentenary of the RPS and the centenary of Benjamin Britten. An illuminating programme of works directed by violinist Pekka Kuusisto also features Britten's Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings. Britten Sinfonia's recent recording of this work with Mark Padmore, also performing tonight, has received worldwide acclaim.
