Following its world premiere at the 2018 Leeds Lieder Festival, Daniel Kidane's Songs of Illumination returns to the Festival this year for another performance.

Based on poems by William Blake, this song cycle was written specifically for tenor Nick Pritchard. It commissioned by the Festival, with the support of the Royal Philharmonic Society and Peter Hirschmann.

Daniel Kidane stands at the forefront of young British composers, bringing fresh ears and raw talent to the contemporary music scene. He was a recipient of the RPS Composition Prizes in 2013.
