Wed 12 Oct 2011 19.30

Gate Theatre, Notting Hill, London

Event Price: £10 (preview 12 Oct), £17 (£12 concs)

Wednesday 12 – Saturday 22 October

The world premiere of this newly composed score by Dario Palermo, supported by the RPS Drummond Fund, is part of this collaborative work with Ben Duke, Will Duke, Zoë Svendsen. The Difference is Engine is a vital and captivating interplay between dance, live and electronic music, interactive video and animation. This new commission manipulates time and memory by exploring what occurs in the world’s primordial past, physical present and technological future. The Difference Engine creates a richly-layered imaginative environment in which the performers - two dancers and a singer - are accompanied by a specially commissioned score. Presented in the intimate surroundings of the Gate Theatre and using interactive technology as a unique storytelling tool, this is a wholly immersive and highly original performance not to be missed. Meet the Artist: Sat 15 October, after the performance. Free to same-day ticket holders. Part of the Dance Umbrella Festival.
