Royal Festival Hall, London

Event Price: Free

Hear three world premieres by RPS Composers in the culminating concert of the Philharmonia Composers' Academy.

The concert marks the end of a year-long association with the Academy for Chia-Ying Lin (Taiwan), Alex Woolf and Benjamin Ashby (both UK), who have been working closely with Philharmonia musicians, visiting composers and Unsuk Chin, Artistic Director of Music of Today. They have also been receiving personal mentoring through the RPS, as well as attending a series of seminars and workshops with leading arts professionals to gain further insight into the industry.

The programme is as follows:

Chia-Ying Lin Rubato
Alex Woolf Octet for mixed ensemble
Benjamin Ashby Some Mad Ideas

These were commissioned by the Society in 2018 as part of its annual Composition Prize, now known under its new name: RPS Emerging Composers.

Entry is free - just walk in. The concert will run for approximately 50 minutes with no interval.
