Women Conductors | Kings Place, Venus Unwrapped

Sun 28 Jul 2019 2.30pm-5.30pm

Kings Place, London,

Event Price: £9.50

The Royal Philharmonic Society is delighted to be hosting two Women Conductors workshops at Kings Place as part of its Venus Unwrapped series, which celebrates the creative firepower of women composers.

These will be Phase 1.5 workshops, which are tailored to women who have undertaken some conducting tuition as part of their studies or professional development, and who wish to make conducting a serious aspect of their career. Participants will develop their baton technique and leadership skills with course leader Alice Farnham, and conduct a professional string ensemble in the final session which will be open to the public. In the spirit of Venus Unwrapped, the workshop repertoire will include music written by both female and male composers.

If you would like to book observer tickets, please click the button below. We encourage musicians who would like to try one of our workshops, but are not sure about applying for one just yet, to observe a workshop first, as this may help them decide if this experience would suit their interests.

The first workshop will take place on Saturday 13 July 2019, details of which can be found here.
