World premiere of Daniel Kidane's new Song Cycle - Leeds

Daniel Kidane's new song cycle 'Songs of Illumination' receives its world premiere at this year's Leeds Lieder Festival. Commissioned by the festival with the support of the Royal Philharmonic Society and Peter Hirschmann, the song cycle is written specifically for tenor Nick Pritchard to poems by William Blake and will be programmed alongside works by Schumann and Britten.

Daniel Kidane stands at the forefront of young British composers, bringing fresh ears and raw talent to the contemporary music scene. He was a recipient of the RPS Composition Prizes in 2013.
