While all music has something to say about its maker, sometimes we glean fairly little about a composer from their work, especially if it’s abstract in nature, without a narrative or theme. In this, we can sometimes overlook that there’s a human being behind the piece, just like us in so many of their daily experiences and influences. We asked Ninfea, our first RPS Featured Composer, to share some insights on where she has drawn inspiration over the years. In the short film linked above, she reveals some surprising answers, from a popular TV advertisement in the 1990s, to a wonderfully artful family tradition that certainly pulled her strings.
