Edmund Tyler began playing the trumpet at age 8 and is currently an undergraduate student at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), studying with Tracey Redfern. Edmund has been involved in a wide array of music: from performing as principal trumpet of the Berkshire Youth Symphony Orchestra; to playing in National Youth Musical Theatre’s Kiss Me Kate; and playing cornet in the championship section Wantage Silver Band. 

At RNCM, Edmund has received tuition from acclaimed trumpet players such as Marc Geujon and Matilda Lloyd. Edmund set up the Song Trumpet Quartet with friends and, in their first year of being together, the ensemble were highly commended in the college's annual Philip Jones Chamber Prize.
