Oboist Dylan McCormick is currently studying for his undergraduate degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under the tutelage of Peter Dykes. Dylan grew up in Stirling where he was a part of Big Noise from 2009. Dylan also attended the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Junior Department from 2019 to 2023. In 2023, he was a part of National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, having been in their Wind Academy in 2019.

Since starting his studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Dylan has had key experiences such as playing in the Wind Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra. He has also had the opportunity to receive feedback in masterclasses from the likes of Alison Teale and Stephane Rancourt. Dylan is extremely grateful to have funding from RPS towards a new oboe, as this purchase will enable him to achieve his goals as an orchestral musician.
