Anna Ryan

Flute | 2023 Julius Isserlis Scholarship

A note from Anna

I am planning to attend the Master’s Programme at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz (HfMT Köln) in Cologne to complete my postgraduate studies with Professor Robert Winn. I am very grateful to the RPS Julius Isserlis Scholarship for support in helping to fund my studies.

Professor Winn is an inspiring teacher who I first met on the Oxford Flute Summer School Masterclass Course. His flute class in Cologne is a rigorous and creative environment, from which many successful flautists have developed. I am very much looking forward to learning further from Professor Winn and excited to study in Germany which will allow me experience living abroad, immersing myself in another language and culture. I hope to benefit from the broad range of opportunities in Europe as I work towards my aim of becoming a professional orchestral flautist.
