Harvey Jones

Oboe | RPS Isserlis Scholarship 2025

A note from Harvey

It is such an honour to have been awarded the RPS Isserlis Scholarship, which will support my studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Christian Wetzel. I first met Christian at a summer course in 2024 and was blown away by the amount of progress he was able to help me achieve in just a couple of lessons. Since then it has been a dream of mine to study in his class and I can’t wait to discover what else I can learn with him.

In my final year at school I applied to study German at university before changing my mind to pursue music instead. I am thrilled to finally be able to combine my love for the German language and culture with my music studies. I am also eager to discover more about the wealth of opportunities for work as a musician in Germany and make the most of as many as I can.

I am so grateful to the RPS for helping to make these plans possible!
