A unique encounter with one of the UK’s most exciting chamber ensembles.
We’re all remarkably good at hiding how classical music is made, with most rehearsals off limits from public eyes and ears. We invite you to take a ringside seat as the trailblazing The Hermes Experiment – recipients of the RPS Young Artist Award in 2021 – prepares for high-profile upcoming concerts. Comprising soprano, clarinet, harp and double bass, there are no rules and no familiar paths for this pioneering group to follow. Join us to discover how their ideas and instincts collide, as they plunge into a range of repertoire from arrangements of Baroque gems to brand new music written especially for the group’s unique forces.
Héloïse Werner – soprano
Anne Denholm – harp
Marianne Schofield – double bass
Peter Sparks – guest clarinet
‘Britain’s music scene offers numerous dynamic small-sized groups, but The Hermes Experiment… so spellbinding, so imaginative… continues to stand alone.’ The Times
