Hear RPS Composer James Albany Hoyle's new work Koivunsoitto, performed at Presteigne Festival by Anne Denholm.

James's music embraces an eclectic range of influences, and he has recently completed his PhD at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he investigated ways of manipulating time and temporality as a means of creating musical structures. You can read more about James and his work on our website here.

James's new work Koivunsoitto is for solo harp, and will be performed by Anne Denholm, in a programme also featuring music by Britten, Mared Emlyn, Lynne Plowman, and William Mathias. Click below for more information about booking.

James is one of seven individuals we are supporting with the 2024 RPS Composers programme, giving each a commission and premiere with a noted ensemble, festival or venue, as well as a year of professional development which gives them the chance to meet industry experts and professional composers, furthering their confidence and skills to seek further commissions and premieres of their own. The RPS Composers programme is made possible by a range of trusts and foundations, and through the kind support of RPS Members.
