Event Price: Free, donations welcome

Haydn Quartet in B flat Op. 50 No. 1
Mendelssohn Quartet in F minor Op. 80

This concert is presented in memory of Eric Falk, a former Vice-Chairman of City Music Society.

Since receiving the RPS Albert and Eugenie Frost Prize in 2017, the Marmen Quartet have enjoyed extensive success, including winning the 2018 Royal Over-Seas League Competition and a Wigmore Hall concert in July 2019 from the Musicians' Company. They now hold the String Quartet Fellowship at the Guildhall School.

Join them for a special recital in the heart of London as part of City Music Society, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this season. Their programme includes Mendelssohn's last major piece, a 'requiem' for his sister Fanny, described by Julius Benedict as a piece of 'poetic melancholy' and 'a masterly eloquent composition'.
