The Presteigne Festival Tour is an annual opportunity for some of Britain’s most brilliant musicians to showcase their skills to a wider audience. Clare Hammond gave a dazzling recital as part of the 2015 Swansea International Festival, and she returns in the company of brilliant oboist James Turnbull for a fascinating exploration of music, old and new, for oboe and piano. The programme features a new work by Ninfea Cruttwell-Reade, 'Ravens' Cage', co-commissioned by the Royal Philharmonic Society and Presteigne Festival, which received its world premiere at Presteigne Festival in August. 'Ravens' Cage' was commissioned as part of Cruttwell-Reade's 2015 RPS Composition Prize. Clare Hammond is a previous participant on the RPS Philip Langridge Mentoring Scheme, working with Anne Queffélec. James Turnbull oboe Clare Hammond piano
