Reigate and Redhill Choral Society and friends present Elgar's iconic meditation on faith and transcendence.
Our friends and RPS Corporate Members Reigate and Redhill Choral Society are joining forces with Woking Choral Society, The Octavian Singers and The Chantry Singers, alongside the London Mozart Players and soloists Judy Louie Brown, Dominic Bevan, and Ross Cumming, for this towering landmark of the English choral tradition.
'The Dream of Gerontius is a work of searing emotional power, intimate one moment and overwhelming the next. Featured recently in the film, The Choral, Elgar’s great meditation on faith, fear and transcendence remains one of the most gripping experiences in the repertoire.'
There will be a pre-concert talk at 6.30 by conductor Cole Bendall, examining how Cardinal Newman’s words and Elgar’s music are woven together into this masterpiece of choral music. Entry to the talk is free to ticket holders for the concert on a first come basis.
