Phase 1 courses are tailored to female musicians aged 16 and over, who are completely new to conducting and interested in trying it, as well as those with elemental conducting experience looking to build on their skills. Artistic Director Alice Farnham takes 10 participants through the basics of conducting, with professional repetiteurs and a small string ensemble. They'll also receive expert tuition on body posture and stagecraft from coach Alma Sheehan to boost their confidence on the podium.
