Women Conductors: London

Sat 07 Dec 2019, 10:00am - 5:30pm

City of London School for Girls, St Giles Terrace, Barbican, London EC2Y 8BB

The Royal Philharmonic Society returns to the City of London School for Girls this Winter for a Phase 1 Women Conductors course.

Phase 1 courses are open to female musicians, aged 16 and over, who are completely new to conducting and interested in trying it, as well as those with elemental conducting experience looking to build on their skills. As an introduction to conducting, these courses play a vital role in our mission to encourage more women to take up the discipline.

Over two intensive days, twelve participants will receive expert tuition and guidance from Artistic Director Alice Farnham, and coach Alma Sheehan who will train them to develop body awareness and confidence. In addition, participants will direct a professional string ensemble and receive timely feedback from all those involved.

Applications for this workshop close on Monday 28 October at midday. To apply for a place, click here.
