Women Conductors: Manchester 2020

Thu 17 Sep 2020

Hallé St Peter's, 40 Blossom St, Ancoats, Manchester M4 6BF

Part two of the Manchester Women Conductors course, especially for music students in the North of England.

Following two activity days in March, participants on this specially-devised course reunite for one day at Hallé St Peter's to conduct an ensemble of professional musicians drawn from the Hallé Orchestra and the BBC Philharmonic. Coached by Alice Farnham, they will have the chance to become comfortable conducting and collaborating with professional players on a range of repertoire.

The course is free and aimed at encouraging female music students – at undergraduate level or upper-6th form – to discover their capabilities as conductors, with a view to conducting becoming a central or component part of their future careers in music.

Applications for the course must be submitted by Monday 24 February. Please click here to find out more and apply.
