The Royal Philharmonic Society is delighted to be hosting a Phase 1 Women Conductors course at Trinity College, Oxford this Autumn as part of its continuing mission to encourage more women to take up and further their skills in conducting.

Phase 1 courses are tailored to female musicians, aged 16 and over, completely new to conducting and interested in trying it, as well as those with elemental conducting experience looking to build on their skills.

Twelve participants will receive expert tuition and guidance from Artistic Director Alice Farnham, and coach Alma Sheehan who will train them to develop body awareness and confidence. During the weekend, they will direct a professional string ensemble and receive timely feedback from all those involved.
