Cameron is one of eight composers selected for a place on the 2025 RPS Composers programme. This will culminate in him writing a new piece, commissioned by the RPS, for Ensemble 10:10.

On this page, Cameron introduces himself in his own words, and shares links to his music, his website, and his social media platforms. We warmly invite programmers and commissioners to take a closer look at Cameron’s work, and please be in touch with us if you would like to connect with him.

About Cameron

'I am a Welsh composer, education producer and teacher based in Llangollen. Being surrounded by nature with luscious green mountains and roaring rivers, my music is inherently infused with these sounds and landscapes. From orchestral works based on landmarks for the Philharmonia Orchestra and BBC National Orchestra of Wales, to working with performers like violinist Fenella Humphreys and harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani, my music explores these ideas in the sparkling textures, dramatic contrasts, melody, and narratives employed throughout my work.

Since completing my PhD studies, I have expanded into vocal music which has been a particularly creatively stimulating journey. I have worked with the National Youth Choir through their Young Composers Programme, and received commissions from baritone Roderick Williams and soprano Ruby Hughes. Most recently, I have enjoyed working with festivals like JAM on the Marsh, where my Concerto for Flute and Chamber Orchestra was performed.

Outside of composition, I am equally passionate about creating opportunities for young musicians in North Wales. This is perhaps most evident in my role as BBC National Orchestra of Wales’ North Wales Associate. I have produced various community driven projects with BBC NOW, from developing young compositional talent, to a massed side-by-side concert with 42 local primary schools!'

The 2025 RPS Composers each had the opportunity to host a show on Resonance FM, curating an hour of music for Sound and Music's The Sampler Mixtape. Click the play button below to listen to Cameron's mixtape featuring his own works and music he is inspired by. All the pieces have some relationship with the idea of colour and sound: listen out for rich orchestral colour, and subtle timbral and vocal shimmers.
