About Sasha
'Hi :) I am Sasha Scott, a composer, producer and violinist born and based in London. My first introduction to music was learning the violin at the age of four, and I found my love for composition by improvising when I should’ve been practising. I started composing music for acoustic instruments before my teens, and when I was about 16 I fell in love with the music of artists such as Aphex Twin, Massive Attack, and Anna Meredith. Listening to those completely new soundworlds deeply inspired me to want to learn how to create my own electronic sounds.
In my artistic practice, I incorporate what I have learnt from my classical training and enjoy merging that with my passion for sound design and music production. I love creating a variety of different music for all kinds of performance spaces, whether that is performing solo electronic sets, creating collaborative electro-acoustic works, or orchestral and chamber music. As a violinist, I regularly play in Chineke! Orchestra and the London Contemporary Orchestra.'
