Each year, through its annual RPS Music Awards, the Royal Philharmonic Society celebrates outstanding achievement in music. Awards are made in 13 categories, each selected by an independent jury of leading music professionals, with winners announced each May at a glittering award ceremony at The Brewery in London.

This year, the Society is looking for nominations that reflect extraordinary music making across the UK in the calendar year 2016: the individuals and organisations who have gone the extra mile to engage and beguile, inform and inspire.

Anna Meredith, Composer: Composer in the House enabled me to push myself in new directions and be bold with my writing. Composers are very lucky to have the RPS!

The Schaller Bust of Beethoven, donated in 1871, has stood on the platform of every RPS concert since then as a symbol of excellence and support for the living composer.
