Vanessa Hristova

Biography

Bulgarian violist Vanessa Hristova performs internationally and has appeared at the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, and the Konzerthaus Berlin. Recently she received the special prize at the XII International Music Competition Dobrich, second prize at the King's Peak Competition and third prize at the North London Competition. She has been invited to Sofia Music Weeks International Festival, IMS Prussia Cove, Festival Academy Budapest, Stift International Music Festival and Encuentro de Santander. She has collaborated with Vladimir Jurowski and Maxim Vengerov, performing as Principal Violist of all the RCM Orchestras amongst others.

Vanessa was selected for the ENO Evolve Scheme, and has recorded a CD in Abbey Road Studios as a lead viola of LGT Young Soloists. Vanessa has also recorded for the Bulgarian National Radio. She is part of the award-winning Adeos Duo, which is mentored by the Marmen Quartet and Maxim Rysanov. Vanessa has been selected for masterclasses with Tatjana Masurenko, Lars Anders Tomter, Wilfred Strehle, Máté Szücs, Lawrence Power, and Kim Kashkashian. Vanessa is studying MPerf at the Royal College of Music as an Elsie Gertrude Martin Scholar in the class of Nathan Braude, and is a prize winner of the RCM Viola Competition. Vanessa is generously supported by the the Kathleen Trust.
