I’m a conductor based in London, originally from Hong Kong, and I’ve always been drawn to the quiet strength that music can convey. When I step onto the podium, I strive to bring a sense of calm authority - creating space for music to speak with clarity and depth. I currently serve as the Artistic Director of the New London Harmonia.

My journey has taken me to orchestras around the world. I’ve had the privilege of working with the Welsh National Opera Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Orchestre Métropolitain, Sofia Philharmonic, and the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra, among others. Each collaboration has taught me something new and deepened my love for the orchestral sound.

Mentorship has played a vital role in my development. I’ve learned from extraordinary conductors including Jorma Panula, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Marin Alsop, and Jac van Steen - each of whom has helped shape the way I think about leadership and musical interpretation.

I’ve also had the opportunity to assist Ryan Bancroft and Jac van Steen with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and Nil Venditti with the Royal Northern Sinfonia. Invitations to programmes such as the Dartington Music Summer School and the Académie du Domaine Forget de Charlevoix have been equally formative.

Before moving to the UK to pursue a Master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, I worked as an orchestra librarian, a youth orchestra conductor - and even spent years doing something completely unrelated to music in Hong Kong. These varied experiences deepened my understanding of the conductor’s multifaceted responsibilities, both on and off the podium.

Throughout this journey, I’ve been fortunate to meet remarkable individuals who continually inspire me to grow - not only as a conductor, but also as a human being. As a cancer survivor, I carry with me a renewed sense of perspective and purpose. Music has been both a refuge and a source of strength, and I find immense joy in using it to connect people and create meaningful, shared experiences. I’m excited about what lies ahead.
