Which Future For Music? On Sunday 8 December, the RPS joins forces with London Sinfonietta and the Rest is Noise Festival to present a day of events looking at the future of classical music.
Kurtag and Schiff to receive the RPS Gold Medal The influential composer, György Kurtág, and world-renowned pianist András Schiff, are to be awarded one of music’s most esteemed honours, the Royal Philharmonic Society Gold Medal. The medals will be presented during concerts in London this December; the culminiation of a year of celebratory concerts, exhibitions and events marking the bicentenary of the RPS.
RPS Mini-commissions Winning mini-commissions by young composers, offered as part of the RPS Bicentenary celebrations, will be premiered at the Royal Festival Hall and the Barbican Hall.
