Opera, composers, singers, conductors, instrumentalists, ensembles … and an Instagram account! The shortlisted nominations for the RPS Music Awards, presented in association with BBC Radio 3, have been announced.

Sally Cavender, Director of Performance Music at Faber Music, has been awarded the RPS Leslie Boosey Award for her outstanding contribution to British contemporary music.

RPS Young Musicians Programme latest awards to young musicians total £42,500.

The RPS has announced a new partnership with Women Conductors, the internationally award-winning programme of conducting workshops designed to support and encourage women to be conductors of classical music.

28-year-old soprano Soraya Mafi awarded the £10,000 Chilcott Award for young British opera singers.

Julian Anderson's new orchestral work, Incantesimi (co-commissioned by the RPS) hits the ground running following the world premiere in Berlin on 8 June.
