Gray grew up in Belfast, and is currently studying at Leeds Conservatoire. Although Gray's musical journey began on cello, they became interested in drums during their teenage years after delving into the world of metal music.

Gray has played with their psychedelic rock band, Klyda, since 2022, during which time they have released 2 EPs, toured Ireland and won the Oh Yeah Centre's Clash of the New Breeds competition. The band has also played in some of Belfast's most notable venues, including the Mandela Hall and The Empire. The band has worked with the notable producer James Michael on their most recent EP.

Being heavily involved in the Belfast local scene helped to shape Gray's decision to study music at university level. Inspired by the drumming of Dave Grohl, Danny Carey and Tomas Haake, Gray continues to develop their own unique style.
